Founded in 2007, Aviation Engineering has been an EASA-approved Part 21 Subpart J Design Organization (DOA) since 2009. The company has held an EASA CAMO approval (with Subp. I privileges) until early 2026, focusing on airworthiness reviews for both large and small airplanes as well as helicopters.

Aviation Engineering is the latest addition to the Sundt Group. It is a well-established organisation with extensive expertise in initial and continuing airworthiness, along with experience in complex modifications. The company specialises in special mission aircraft modifications, including Minor and Major modifications and STCs for both large and small airplanes and rotorcraft. Additionally, it provides consultancy services related to initial and continuing airworthiness.

By incorporating Aviation Engineering, the Sundt Group has expanded its capabilities to fully manage the entire process of turnkey special mission projects in-house.

Special Mission Capabilities of Sundt Group

The Sundt Group provides special mission systems specifically for Flight Inspection, Airborne Surveillance, and Remote Sensing.

This includes mission system definition and development by Norwegian Special Mission (AS9100 Approved), aircraft integration and certification by Aviation Engineering’s Design Organisation Approval (EASA Part 21 Subpart J Approved), parts production under Norwegian Special Mission’s Production Organisation Approval (EASA Part 21 Subpart G Approved), and aircraft modification by Sundt Air (EASA Part 145 Approved).
